Parshat Noach thoughts for 5773/2012

My question for this go-round: Why was K'naan (Canaan) punished for his father Ham's sin? (See B'reshit/Genesis, chapter 9, verses 22-27.)
And now, for something totally different. Back in prehistoric times, before my foot surgery and my balance problem, I did a little choreography, and one of the dances was set to a song that quoted a couple of verses from Haftarat Noach. Sunday, October 21, 2012 update: Give Avraham's father, Terach, some credit--according to chapter 11, verse 31, Terach left Ur Kasdim (Ur of the Chaldees) with the intention of going to K'naan (Canaan), though he died in Charan.
